This year our scouts built their own sled with the help and support of local tree cutter and woodworker Tim Butler. They then competed on two teams in the Klondike race. They placed 1st and 3rd in the Junior division. This years Klondike was held at Lac Beachamp in Gatineau. Klondike focuses on scouting skills and teamwork. Each stop in the race tests the scouts with different activities: first aid, splinting and carries, rope climbing, hill descents, knots and lashings, and many more. They are marked on both their knowledge and their ability to work as a team.
